Mom and I did some typical touristy things. We were staying pretty much downtown at the Hilton. (A far cry from the little hotel in Stone Mountain). While in Atlanta, we tried Fried Green tomatoes (not bad) as a quick snack as we were drained by mid-afternoon. After our snack, we walked to Atlanta's Olympic Centennial Park.
To kill sometime before our dinner reservation, we stopped off at a local hotel just to relax.

We had reservations made at Pittypat's Porch. The restaurant is supposedly famous and named after Scarlett O'Hara's aunt, Aunt Pittypat, in Gone with the Wind. We walked in and it was decorated a little too crazy. There was dust everywhere and it smelled awful inside. So we took off. By this time we had walked all over and just wanted to eat somewhere. So we headed back to our hotel and had a yummy salad and dessert up in our room. Not too adventurous...but we were tired...and it was good. (And you don't want to see either of us when we're tired and hungry!)
The next morning we knew exactly where we were headed to...Ballard Designs Outlet. Both my mom and I are huge fans of the Ballard Designs online store. So we were pretty stoked to do some more shopping at an outlet of this fabulous store.
Mom was eyeing some cute stools that, after the final discount, were only like $40 each or something silly like that. But we realized that the shipping for these stools would be kinda high and defeat the purpose of buying them so inexpensive. I could probably go a little crazy there if there were one anywhere in TX. But I was fairly happy with my purchases...
I got this cute towel holder (above). I've been eying these for some time but couldn't bring myself to pay $26-30 for a paper towel holder. Even though it was super cute, I hated my old one (seen in the background of above picture), it was wrought iron, etc, etc. But it was over 50% off after all the discounts. I also got...
It's "wall pockets" that you hang on the wall...Normally $59. I got it for about $15! Woo hoo. Mama loves a good deal! Mom got a paper towel holder similar but slightly different than mine.
At this point, after the Country Living Fair & our shopping in Atlanta, we were starting to grow concerned with where the heck are we going to put everything when we fly home!
