Organizing Decoratively: Framed Corkboard

Several months ago I bought a small stack of cheap frames at the dollar store. I've been working on new ways to use them since. The other day I was going through my craft cabinet and found several of those cork squares that you can get at any office supply store...or even Target. So I put the two together and got something kinda cute :)

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Cheap Frame
  • Spray Paint
  • Cork board
  • Hot Glue
So I started off with the cheap frame.

I removed the back, insides and the glass so all I had left was the frame. I covered in in several layers of off-white spray paint.

I took the glass that was originally in the frame and used it to cut a similarly sized piece of cork to replace where the glass went.

Next I busted out my hot glue gun & hot glued the cork around the back inside of the frame, then put the back of the frame back on (with some minor adjustments and dots of hot glue here and there since the piece of cork is a bit thicker than the glass). Ta-dahhhh

I'm not sure if I want to keep it as a standing frame - or hang it on the wall in back of my desk. But I'm satisfied with how it came out especially since it only cost around $1.00 considering I had most of the supplies on hand! Find some pretty push pins (that aren't too long) and there ya go! It would make for a cute thank you or hostess gift too!
