Adventures in Cooking: Crostinis

I kid you not....when I cook...the fire alarm goes off. I think it's this house (at least I tell myself that). I boil water and the fire alarm goes off! So it was no surprise when it went off tonight while cooking.

I made a few crostinis for appetizers for tonight...one had a little Greek flair...the other a little Italian flair.

Ingredients:
  • Baquette of Bread
  • Feta Cheese (for Greek)
  • Mozzerella (for Italian)
  • Fresh Tomato
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • Pesto (I'll post the recipe for this later)

For the Greek I put sliced tomato on the bread and topped it with feta and ground pepper.

For the Italian I added fresh tomato, a little pesto, topped off with a slice of mozzerella and fresh ground pepper.

They both turned out pretty tasty - I'm really not the kind of "cook" where I whip stuff up and it turns out good. I like a recipe in front of me telling me how much of what to put in the pot and cook for X amount of time. The Greek one needed a little something extra...maybe balsalmic vinegar?
