School Adventures

Brad's been a busy bee in school this semester!

Volcano!
His school held a Science Faire several months back. His class did a group project...and each kids had the option (for extra credit) to do a volcano science project. I passed this one off to Rob. I told Brad..."If you want to do this project, you need to have Dad help you." Then I told Rob..."I help with all his other projects...this messy bad boy is alllll yours!"

So what did the two boys do? Well, they waited until the night before to do anything! Rob did some research online with B's help and found the Dr Pepper/Mentos explosion...and how to make a volcano out of foam sealant. They "borrowed" some of my other craft supplies to make the rest. They did a pretty good job...Brad loved testing out the Dr Pepper and Mentos explosions in the backyard. I think Rob mourned the loss of a Dr Pepper bottle with each test run we did.

The end result was a great project!

Field Trip!

Last week the 3rd Graders went on a field trip. They started off with having lunch a picnic lunch on the grounds of the Capitol. The kids got to run around and play for a bit before heading over to the Austin Children's Museum for some educational play.  Brad had a blast. He hadn't been there in about 9 months and the place had grown since then. New exhibits, things to do and activities. He was WIPED out after school!
