Craft Idea: Homemade Christmas Ornament

Last year I made a bunch of homemade ornaments...this year, time has not been my friend. But I wanted to share with you how I made this mini pomander:
Supplies Needed:
  • Foam Ball from your local craft store
  • Ribbon
  • Sewing Pins (regular or decorated tips)
  • Die Cut Flowers (you can use a hand punch to make this or your die cutting machine)

Instructions:
  1. At the bottom of your ball, pin the start of the ribbon down. Begin wrapping the ball in the ribbon of your choice. Once the ball is completely covered in ribbon, secure the ribbon at the top with a pin.
  2. Make a loop at the top (so you can hang your ornament) and secure the end again with a pin. Cut off the excess ribbon.
  3. Starting at the top and working your way around the ball, begin pinning the flowers to the ball until the ball is completely covered.
  4. Try experimenting with different size die cut flowers - or other designs!

Stephanie, thanks for visiting :) This little ornament is so cute and reminds me of ones I used to make with my grandmother when I was little. We used sequins to cover the foam balls. I'd love to try a variation of your paper flower ornament along with some sequins and maybe beads too. Possibly next year, right? Time is definitely speeding by! Take care & Merry Christmas!
