Halloween Decorations: Bat Mobile

...Not the kind of Bat Mobile you drive in! This kind:

Do you subscribe to Lowe's Creative Ideas? They have both email subscriptions and free magazine subscriptions. They have some great ideas I've used for many holidays. Earlier this week I came across this idea for the Bat Mobile. Since the hubby's out of town on business, it's been a bit crazy at my house. I haven't had a chance to try it out. Here's a link to the project! The project costs approximately $17 and makes 3 mobiles. It is a beginner level project - so it looks pretty easy. Below is a list of tools you'll need - for a list of Lowe's items, check out the link to the project!
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Black permanent marker
  • Paint brush (you could even use black spray paint)
  • Black thread
  • Needle
This will probably sound like a commercial for Lowe's... They have some great resources for the crafty adult who likes to DIY or for your young child who wants to be part of making something. The projects on their Creative Ideas site and magazine come with great instructions, skill level needed, tools needed and even a list of items (and item numbers) you can purchase from your local Lowe's store.

For you parents out there...did you know Lowe's has a program called Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic? Check out their site! It's FREE (don't you love that word?)! A clinic is usually held every other Saturday. They provide you with the tools and everything needed to build a project. Your child also gets a free Build and Grow apron, goggles and a patch for the project they completed. My son loves it! (I noticed Lowe's now has take home children's projects you can purchase the last time I visited my store.) Here's some photos I took when he made a basketball hoop earlier this year during the Men's College Basketball Tourney:
Check it out!
